Oh, by the way...

I registered this blog for "23 Things".

Just waiting for our library system to update the participants page... (twiddles thumbs and hums)

A Library Associate's Work is NEVER done, pt 2

1) Finished my book talks for YA and Story time classes. Felt pretty good about them. Wonder when I'll have to go book talking or do story time.

2) Am I EVER going to finish reviewing 35 reference sources?

3) Deleted a bunch of kids books that hadn't been checked out since 2005. Sense of completion - priceless.

4) Attempted to help colleague create avatar last night, but Google Avatars was on the fritz.

5) Rollyo gets a NO vote from me.

6) Filled out my Learning Activities reports for the last three classes I took (including the "Medical Databases" workshop) and got them in the mail.

7) Going to Google Images and looking up things like "Pandas" is very relaxing. ("Black Labs" also works.)

Nice Avatar!

Okay, I did it. I managed to create an avatar, and it was quite painless. Fun, in fact. It was like shopping and having your hair done for free! (Although, I have to say, I think my avatar is cuter than I am, and I'm pretty cute! Hee!)

No, my library doesn't have a roaring fire, but I was inspired by a visit to the Urbana Regional Library in Frederick, Maryland, which has a really cool "English study" seating area. (But no fireplace! Alas!)

Next stop: creating pictures for this blog via Flickr.

Changed layout

Decided that "Snapshot" was not the way to go and changed the layout to "No.897", which I didn't like, then finally to "Dots Dark", which I love.

Need to learn how to do links so that you can see the examples. Sigh.

Welcome to my world!

This is my blog that I've created to host my LATI homework.

For those of you not in the know, LATI stands for Library Associate Training Institute.

Yeah, this is going to be REAL exciting. Personally, I think that thoughts should only be written down in those little diaries that come with a lock and key.

Not that the work isn't exciting - it's just that I've done the blog thing on LiveJournal (and no, I'm not giving you the addy), and it got old FAST.

Anyway, I can't promise that this will be the most exciting blog ever. Sorry.

I'm told I make a better impression in person.
